BREAKING NEWS: Cage Warriors 210: Dublin adds world title fight.

Cage Warriors, arguably Europe’s largest MMA organisation today has announced that their upcoming event in Dublin will feature a Middleweight title bout.

Current Middleweight Champion Paddy McCorry will look to add a successful defence to his 8-1 record after winning the 185lb strap back at CW200, when he takes on Brazilian Julio Spadaccini on the September 26th event.

McCorry has had previous ventures on both The Ultimate Fighter and Dana White’s Contender Series. McCorry featured on the 32nd series of the flagship UFC reality series back in 2024 which was coached by then UFC Flyweight Champion Alexa Grasso & former Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. McCorry saw himself advance to the semi-finals after submitting Mark Hulme but was himself submitted by Robert Valentin Frey in the next round.

In September of last year he was featured in week 6 of Dana White’s Contender Series facing off again In Su Hwang where he won by a unanimous decision, the win however was unfortunately not enough as Dana White and the UFC passed on the opportunity to sign him to a UFC contract. At the time White said:

“I felt like there was a ton of stalling in this fight. I didn’t see anything, depending on who won this fight either way, that said ‘I have to have one of these guys’ it wasn’t your night brother. You got the win, it was a great. Get back out there and get back to work and maybe we’ll see you again” – Dana White

After the signing setback McCory returned to Cage Warriors where he was crowed the 185lb champion with a first round TKO stoppage over Dario Bellandi at CW 200, which also took place in the Irish capital.

His opponent, the Brazilian Spadaccini (10-4) is looking to make it three wins in a row as he makes his Cage Warriors debut. Spadaccini has three stoppages in as many wins, with his last win coming by way of TKO in the first round at LFA 225 this past January.
