UFC on ESPN 64: Moreno vs Erceg Preview

UFC is back again this Saturday for the fifth and final UFC of an action packed March. This time the world famous Octagon is heading to Mexico City as former UFC Flyweight Champion Brandon Moreno (22-8-2) takes on Steve Erceg (13-3-0).
Moreno is looking to get another win and step closer to chasing UFC gold once again after losing the title back in July 2023, Moreno’s most recent outing was a decision victory over Amir Albazi back in November last year.
Erceg is looking to break his current two-fight skid after back-to-back loses over Alexandre Pantoja for the title in May of last year, followed by a TKO loss to Kai Kara-France in August last year. This is the first time in Erceg’s 13-3 career were he has faced back-to-back losses, a win over the former Flyweight Champion Moreno will do much to not only get Erceg back to winning ways, but to also boost his current ranking position.
Also on the card is a Lightweight bout between Manuel Torres (15-3-0) taking on Drew Dober (18-7-0), Tores is looking to get back to winning ways after a TKO loss to Ignacio Bahamondes at UFC 306 in September 2024. The Lightweight vet Dober, who has been on the UFC roster since 2013 is also looking to get back into the win column after dropping his last two fights to Jean Silva (TKO- UFC on ESPN 59) and Renato Moicano (Dec – UFC Fight Night 235), Dober is now 2-3 in his last five, so a much needed win is needed here to ensure his UFC future.
Also on the card and in need of a win is former Interim Middleweight title contender Kelvin Gastelum (19-9-0). The Ultimate Fighter 17 winner is no stranger to putting on a show for the fans, being awarded 5 fight of the night and 2 performance of the night awards. Gastelum is 2-3 in his last 5, with his last outing in June 2024 a decision win over Daniel Rodriguez. Staring him across the Octagon is Joe Pyfer (13-3-0), the Dana White Contender Series winner is back in the Octagon after knocking out Marc-Andre Barriault in June 2024, earning himself a performance of the night bonus.
Other fights on the card include a pair of Bantamweight affairs as Raul Rosas Jr. (10-1-0) takes on Vince Morales (16-9-0), David Martinez (11-1-0) will battle it out against Saimon Oliveira (18-5-0). In the Flyweight division Ronaldo Rodriguez (17-2-0) fights Kevin Borjas (9-3-0).
UFC on ESPN 64: Moreno vs Erceg takes place this Saturday March 29, live from the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. You can catch all the action live on ESPN in the US and TNT Sports in the UK. Check local listings for international broadcasts.
